Hospitals across Northern Virginia welcomed the first babies of the year with open arms and adorable onesies. But as the world collectively coos over these tiny bundles of joy, we must ask ourselves: is this really cause for celebration?
Let's face it, these new additions to society are only going to contribute to the already overwhelming population problem. With resources dwindling and the planet on the brink of environmental disaster, do we really need more mouths to feed?
But the selfish parents of these newborns don't seem to care. They're too busy posting pictures on social media and bragging about their "miracle" to the world. Meanwhile, the rest of us are left to deal with the consequences of their reckless procreation.
And let's not forget the toll that these infants will take on our already overburdened healthcare system. From the constant doctor's visits to the never-ending supply of diapers, these babies are going to drain our resources and strain our wallets.
So as we congratulate the proud parents of these new arrivals, let's also take a moment to consider the bigger picture. Maybe it's time for a worldwide baby moratorium. It's the responsible thing to do for the future of humanity.
